It’s been a huge week for news around the world. Kim Kardashian ‘broke the internet’ and scientists made history by placing a landing probe on a comet. Groundbreaking stuff indeed. But today in a corner of leafy Hertfordshire, the girls of Turnford had their minds on their own challenge and were preparing for the first big hurdle on the way to glory at Nationals – Hertfordshire County qualifiers.

The U14 and U16 teams were hoping to do what many Turnford teams have done before them – and make it to the Regional round of Nationals. And make it they DID! With a full post to come later in the week, I won’t give away all the details. But suffice to say – both teams did their coaches, parents and each other proud by qualifying for Regionals – GREAT WORK GIRLS!

And while all of this was underway – the Seniors were also flying the flag for Turnford. The Premier League 1 team were at home to Team Bath Toucans – and after a small run of disappointingly close defeats they were keen to get back to winning ways. Leading at the end of every quarter – with slick shooting, strong defending and speed through the centre, the team took the win 53-44!

With all junior teams (U11, U13 and U14) having won their North London Netball League matches convincingly on the Saturday the club demonstrated that ‘Hard Work Pays Off’ and ‘Better Never Stops’.

The extended Turnford family is always proud of the ladies of Turnford but this weekend was definitely a crowd pleaser.

Match reports to come later in the week…
